A Fayette woman has been charged with a felony for assault after an incident on Monday, July 24, 2023.

According to the Fayette Police Department, officers arrived on scene on Francis Street to find a woman on the street having a seizure. Several witnesses at the scene reported that Rodnese Jones allegedly got into a fight with the victim after Jones’ dog went into the victim’s yard. Jones reportedly got the victim on the ground and was seen hitting the victim on head multiple times. Jones left the scene before police arrived.

The victim was taken to Missouri University Hospital.

Police located Jones later that night on Maple Street and took her into custody.

Court documents say Jones is charged with a felony for assault in the third degree. Bond was set at $20,000 cash only.

A bond review hearing is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 2 at Howard County Circuit Court.
