An individual was found deceased at a structure fire at 22482 Poplar Avenue in Saline County on Thursday, July 27.

According to a press release from Sheriff Cindi Mullins, at approximately 4:33 p.m. Marshall Fire, Saline County Ambulance and the Saline County Sheriff’s Department initially responded to the fire along with the Slater and Blackwater Fire Departments.

A subject was found deceased inside the structure. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, July 28. The incident remains under investigation by the fire marshal, coroner and sheriff’s department.
