
A Malta Bend woman has been charged with burglary after authorities were dispatched to a Saline County residence on May 26.
According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, a resident and witness reported that items in the residence had been broken and several items were thought to be missing. The victim identified Christy Moore as being allegedly at the residence due to a debit card being found in a shoe. The victim stated Moore was not welcome at the residence but has continued to invite herself onto the property. The victim and deputy located items in a wooded area near the residence as well as items that had been burned.
After arrival of a second deputy, a search was conducted for Moore but deputies were unable to locate her. After leaving the scene, the deputies located a woman on Kite Avenue lying in the middle of the road. The woman was identified as Moore.
Moore stated to deputies she was unaware of any missing items at the residence.
According to court documents Moore has been charged with a felony for second degree burglary.
Bond was set at $7,500.
No court date has been set.
