
Jordan Lyles pitched five innings to pick up his second win of the season, Bobby Witt Jr. had four hits and three RBI, and the Kansas City Royals defeated the Minnesota Twins 10-7 on Saturday, July 29.
The Royals built an early 6-0 lead tot support Lyles, who gave up three runs and struck out four. Minnesota finally broke through for three runs in the fourth. Minnesota pulled within one run in the sixth, but Kansas City tacked on four more runs to put the game out of reach for the Twins.
Witt homered, tripled and drove in three runs for Kansas City. Michael Massey also homered.
The Royals tallied 18 hits, 11 of them off of Twins starter Bailey Ober. Ober gave up six runs over four innings of work.
Scott Barlow worked a scoreless ninth for his 13th save.
