Steven A. Benson, 69 of Sedalia died Thursday, July 27, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Parish, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Steven was born November 5, 1953, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Wilmer Benson and Mary Lou (Lemire) Benson, who survives of the home.

Steven attended area schools, graduating from Smith Cotton High School in the class of 1973. He went on to receive his associate degree from State Fair Community College in 1976.

Steven worked as a trimmer for Interstate Studios, for more than 25yrs, before retiring. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Parish.

Steven was an avid sports fan, cheering for the KC Royals, KC Chiefs, Mizzou Basketball and Football, and the Cardinals. He liked to bowl, square dance, and go to the Friday Night races.

Additional survivors include his brothers, Todd Benson of Sedalia and Mark Benson of Greensburg, IN.
