An Odessa woman was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident on Wednesday, August 2.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Misty Lunceford entered a curve at an excessive rate of speed and began to slide. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Lunceford was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at 6:33 p.m. on County Road Northwest 850 east of Missouri Route 131 in Johnson County.
