
Brady Singer threw eight shutout innings, Bobby Witt Jr. and Drew Waters homered, and the Kansas City Royals completed a three-game series sweep of the New York Mets with a 9-2 win on Thursday, August 3.
Singer was dominant for Kansas City, going eight scoreless innings, giving up three hits, and striking out four batters. The Royals torched Mets starter Carlos Carrasco for six runs over six innings.
Witt swatted his 19th homer of the season, and Waters hit his sixth as the Royals scored nine runs on 13 hits.
Kansas City has now won six straight games and have swept their second consecutive series.
The Mets scored their only two runs of the game off a home run from Francisco Lindor off of Jonathan Heasley in the ninth.
