A Holden man was injured after falling asleep while driving in Lafayette County on Wednesday, August 2.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when 44-year-old Alan Sanderson fell asleep at the wheel and traveled off the roadway. Sanderson’s vehicle struck a culvert and overturned.

Sanderson was transported by Odessa EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred at 10:10 p.m. on Missouri Route 131 at Mount Tabor Road in Lafayette county.
