A Lafayette County crash resulted in the death of a Blue Springs woman and the injuries of six others during the early morning hours of Sunday, August 6, 2023.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Terry Ashley, struck a stationary towed unit from a previous crash and traveled into the path of a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Shelby Brewer. A passenger in Ashley’s vehicle, 37-year-old Jennifer Farley, was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputy. Between the two vehicles, a total of six occupants suffered injuries. All occupants were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center.

The crash occurred at 12:57 a.m. on Westbound I-70 at mile marker 45.8 in Lafayette County.
