A Lexington man has been arrested and charged after an incident on August 2, 2023.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers responded to a residence for a physical disturbance in progress. Officers made contact with the victim, who was reportedly covered in blood. The victim alleged that Taizon Simmons broke all the windows in her house and shoved her after breaking the windows.

Police located Simmons at a Casey’s General Store and took him to the hospital before transporting him to the Lafayette County Jail. The estimated damage done to the residence was $1,800 for the windows.

Court documents say Simmons is charged with a felony for property damage in the first degree and a misdemeanor for domestic assault in the fourth degree. Bond was set at $15,000 cash only.

A hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
