The Sedalia City Council discussed the purchase of a truck for use in the sewer department for sludge containers during its meeting on Monday, August 7.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw stated the city uses roll off containers for sludge accumulation at the wastewater treatment plant and a truck was needed for the city to take the containers to the compost site. Shaw stated the sanitation department currently uses a truck to haul off containers of solid waste and due to scheduling issues and equipment breakdowns another truck was needed to accommodate both departments.

The total cost of the truck is $97,500. The purchased was approved by the council.
