A Centerview man has been seriously injured in a Johnson County crash on Monday, August 14.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 24-year-old James Ries attempted to avoid hitting another vehicle driven by 27-year-old Michaela Tevis. Ries’s vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of Tevis’s vehicle, causing Ries’s vehicle to overturn before coming to a rest on its wheels in a ditch.

Ries was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at 9:08 a.m. on U.S. 50 at Northwest 311 Road in Johnson County.
