An Odessa man was arrested and charged with several felonies after authorities served a search warrant on Friday, August 11.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the residence of Johnny Tye in Odessa. Before authorities were able to execute the warrant, they noticed Tye’s truck leave his driveway at a high rate of speed.

During the execution of the search warrant, authorities located four confirmed stolen trailers, a stolen scooter, a stolen John Deer gator, and a stolen Caterpillar excavator. Authorities also located several plastic bags containing a crystal substance testing positive for methamphetamine, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia.

Court documents say Tye is charged with two felonies for receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash only.

Tye has an initial appearance scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 at Johnson County Circuit Court.
