
A Sweet Springs woman has been charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor in Cooper County for fraudulent use of a debit card.
According to a probable cause statement, the owner of Central Missouri Glass and More, reported to Boonville Police on May 11, that Patricia Michelle Frye ,who was employed at the business had allegedly stolen approximately $10,000 from the business bank account by writing checks to herself and making unauthorized debit card purchases at Boonville Walmart and Amazon Marketplace.
The debit card purchases allegedly took place between April 2022 and August 2022. In early August 2022 an audit of the company bank statement revealed an image of a check that had been altered to make the payee field illegible. A check of the online banking statement revealed the check was originally made out to Michelle Frye.
According to the probable cause statement, Frye has a criminal history of previous arrests and/or convictions in the last ten years for forgery, passing a bad check, stealing and driving while revoked or suspended.
No court dates have been set at this time.
