The Salisbury Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance prohibiting marijuana usage on city owned property during its meeting on Thursday, August 10.

The ordinance prohibits marijuana or marijuana infused products to be ingested on city property or within a public place within the areas designated as the Central Business District. A violation of the ordinance is subject to a civil penalty of up to $100.

In other news from the meeting, the board approved a bid from JL Gordon Contracting, LLC., for removal of the asphalt entrance to the elementary school bus approach and replace with concrete. The cost of the project will be $10,300.
