The Slater City Council passed the first and second readings of a bill setting the 2024 property tax rate during its meeting on Tuesday, August 16.

A tax rate hearing was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday. City Administrator Gene Griffith gave a rundown of the rates.

The council later passed both readings of a bill to set the 2024 tax rate.
