Julio Rodriguez homered and drove in five runs, and the Seattle Mariners defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-4 to take three of four in Kansas City.

Rodriguez had five hits, including a double and his 20th home run of the season as he drove in five of Seattle’s six runs. Cal Raleigh swatted his 22nd homer of the year.

Bobby Witt Jr. had a pair of hits and Nelson Velazquez hit his fourth home run since joining the Royals.

Seattle starter George Kirby went six innings, giving up four runs on eight hits. Angel Zerpa allowed one run over four innings for Kansas City.

Carlos Hernandez took the loss after giving up the go ahead run in the eighth inning. Matt Brash pitched a scoreless ninth for his fourth save.
