The Kansas City Chiefs rolled past the Arizona Cardinals in a 38-10 preseason victory on Saturday, August 19.
After a sloppy start that included several dropped passes, Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City offense to the first touchdown of the game. Mahomes was 10 of 15 for 105 yards and a touchdown pass.
The Chiefs also used three other quarterbacks. Shane Buechele went a perfect 10 for 10 with 105 yards and a rushing touchdown. Blaine Gabbert went 7 of 8 for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Oladokun finished four for five with 63 passing yards.
In all, the Kansas City offense had 504 total yards, including 393 passing yards.
Rashee Rice had eight catches for 96 yards. Rice was a second round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Cardinals are expected to start veteran Colt McCoy until Kyler Murray returns. He completed 5 of 8 passes for 25 yards. Murray is likely out for the first several weeks of the season while he recovers from a torn ACL suffered last year.
Kansas City’s last preseason game will be held on Saturday, August 26 against the Cleveland Browns.
