A Sedalia man was charged with multiple felonies after a shooting incident on Friday, August 18.

According to Sedalia Police, two groups were leaving a bar in the early morning hours and comments were made to an individual allegedly angering Nathaniel Shipman The argument led to an altercation involving several individuals in the street. During an investigation, it was determined Shipman allegedly drew a 9 millimeter pistol and pointed it at several subjects. A victim was shot in the head in the process and the bullet entered a truck parked on the street after exiting the victim’s skin. Shipman allegedly continued to assault the victim with the gun.

Shipman denied shooting the victim although the witnesses at the scene stated he had been the shooter.

According to court documents, Shipman was charged with felonies for first degree assault, armed criminal action, discharging a firearm at a motor vehicle and unlawful use of a weapon.

Bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.

No court date has been set.
