The Seattle Mariners hit seven home runs on their way to a 15-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, August 26.

Seattle got things started with a seven run third inning off of Jordan Lyles. Lyles gave up seven runs on six hits and three walks. It didn’t stop there, as the Royals bullpen gave up at least one run in every inning the rest of the way.

Teoscar Hernandez homered twice, and Julio Rodriguez, Cade Marlow, Cal Raleigh, Mike Ford, and Josh Rojas all homered for the Mariners, who scored 15 runs on 13 hits. Seattle also walked seven times.

Logan Gilbert went seven innings, giving up only one run on two hits. He struck out seven and walked one.

Drew Water homered for Kansas City in the fifth.

Seattle improved to 73-56 and are fighting for the AL West title. The Mariners are currently 9-1 over their last ten and are tied with the Texas Rangers for the division lead.
