
Marshall Police arrested a suspect allegedly responsible for several burglaries in Marshall on Sunday, August 29.
According to the department, a concerned citizen contacted the Saline County 9-1-1 Center, advising of a suspicious person walking westbound on East Yerby from South Conway and provided a brief description. Marshall officers were dispatched to the area and located a person identified as Leo Blackford.
Officers learned Mr. Blackford had an active Probation and Parole warrant for his arrest. Mr. Blackford was arrested and transported to the Saline County Jail.
A follow up investigation revealed Mr. Blackford to be responsible for burglaries at multiple businesses in Marshall.
Court documents say Blackford is charged with three felonies for burglary in the second degree and a felony for possession of a controlled substance. Blackford has also been charged with misdemeanors for stealing.
Blackford had an initial appearance at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, at Saline County Circuit Court.
