A Fayette man has been arrested and charged after threatening people with an axe on Monday, August 28.
According to a Howard County Sheriff’s deputy, Howard County Central Dispatch was advised of a man armed with an axe in the roadway, threatening to swing at anyone who got close.
The deputy responded to the scene, and discovered that James Dale had set up a barricade in the middle of the roadway. Dale was aggressive with authorities, causing a deputy to tase Dale to prevent him from accessing any of his weapons.
Authorities spoke with five victims regarding Dale’s actions. Dale allegedly threatened to kill multiple, including some children, with the axe. Dale also hit someone’s truck with the axe.
Court documents say Dale is charged with a felony for unlawful use of a weapon and several misdemeanors. Bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
No court dates have been set at this time.
