The Sedalia Police Department arrested a subject after detonating an incendiary device in someone’s vehicle on Thursday, August 31.

According to the department, police responded to the 1900 block of South Lamine Avenue in reference to possible gun shots.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that an incendiary device was detonated inside the victim’s vehicle. Officer conducted an investigation and identified a potential suspect.

Authorities conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle, and 39-year-old Charles Monteer was arrested without incident.

The charges being requested on Monteer are felonies for knowingly burning or exploding, property damage in the first degree, and domestic assault in the fourth degree.
