The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works voted to approve the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget during its meeting on Thursday, August 31.

All capital projects budgeted for the year will come back to the board for approval before the project starts or any expense is incurred. The Marshall City Council will need to pass two readings of an ordinance to approve the budget.

The board voted in favor to approve the annual budget.

In other news, the board approved a motion to install approximately 450 feet of eight-inch C900 pipe from East Slater to East State Street on North Lincoln Avenue. The approximate cost of the project is #35,000 using in-house labor. The original main was installed in 1953 and has failed several times in recent years.
