The Boston Red Sox scored 6 runs against Alec Marsh on their way to a 9-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, August 2.

Royals starter Alec Marsh allowed six runs on seven hits over 2 2/3 innings. He dropped to 0-8 on the season.

Tanner Houck went five innings, while allowing four runs for Boston. Nick Pivetta worked the final three innings for the save.

MJ Melendez had three hits and homered for Kansas City. Michael Massey had three hits and Nelson Velazquez drove in two runs.

Kansas City has fallen to 42-95 on the year.
