The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported traffic statistics for the Labor Day Holiday weekend. The 2023 counting period for the Labor Day holiday was from 6 p.m., Friday, September 1, through 11:59 p.m., Monday, September 4.

12 traffic fatalities were reported during the holiday weekend, including 306 crashes and 146 injuries. The patrol also arrested 119 people for driving while intoxicated and made 19 drug arrests.

All of those numbers are up from the 2022 counting period. Only seven fatalities were reported during the 2022 Labor Day holiday.

The patrol also investigated eleven boating crashes and two boating injuries.
