Harry Staple Gibson Jr., 76, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial with full military rites will follow at the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville.  Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Patriot Guard and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born February 19, 1947, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Harry Staple Gibson Sr. and Opal Bell Ford Gibson.  On February 14, 1982, he married Linda Lou Green who survives of the home.  Harry served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the United States Navy and was a proud member of American Legion Post 558 for 35 years.  After his service to our country, Harry returned to Marshall where he worked for Eidson & Ussery, Cargill Feed Plant, and then as a bus driver for Marshall Public Schools.

In addition to his wife, Linda; he is survived by four children: Daniel Wayne Gibson of Malta Bend, Bill Eugene Gibson of Marshall, Rebekah Lynn Dutcher (Chris) of California and Anthony Gibson of Marshall; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; four siblings: Roger Gibson (Barb), Patty Fisher, Connie Nease and Ronald Gibson, all of Marshall; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Katie Fiene, Alma Sheffer and Daisy Harper.
