
The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved street closure requests for several upcoming events during its meeting on Tuesday, September 5.
The board first approved a request from Lafayette County C-1 School to close Main Street from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 29 for the Homecoming Parade.
The board also approved requests for two Halloween related events. One was a request from the Chamber of Commerce to close Main Street for the “Halloween Spooktacular” event. The closure takes effect from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 31.
The other request was from Grace United Methodist Church and Salem United Church of Christ to close 15th Street between Main Street and Walnut Street for their “Trunk or Treat” event. That street closure takes effect from 4:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. October 31.
In other news, the board approved the appointment of Carleigh Jenkins to the role of City Collector.
