
A Boonville man has been charged with a drug felony after a traffic stop in Howard County.
According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck near Franklin after observing several violations on Monday, September 4. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Rance Givens was found to have an outstanding warrant from Cooper County. After placing Givens under arrest, a search revealed a small plastic baggy in his pocket containing a crystal-like substance. The substance later field tested positive for the presence of alleged methamphetamine.
A formal charge of possession of a controlled substance was filed on Tuesday, September 5.
Bond was set at $15,000 cash only.
No court date has been set.
