The Carrollton Town Council approved an ordinance to rezone the property for the new YMCA during its meeting on Tuesday, September 5.

City Administrative Assistant Amber Cooper stated the property located at 306 North Jefferson Street had been designated an institutional district and the council approved changing the zoning to multi-family.

The council also held a public meeting regarding demolition of two properties on Main Street according to Cooper.

In other news, the council approved the purchase of a vehicle for the Carrollton Memorial Airport.
