John W. Boyd, 75, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, September 7, 2023, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023, at Union Cemetery north of Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Union Cemetery, Saline Animal League or Fitzgibbon Home Health and Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born September 29, 1947, in Marshall, he was the son of the late John Wilbur Boyd and Myrtle Irene Harrison Boyd. On June 24, 1967 he married Linda Samuels who preceded him in death on June 13, 1991. On July 22, 1993, he married Lois Ellen Yoder Wilson who preceded him in death on March 27, 2021. He lived in Saline County his entire life and was a 1965 graduate of Marshall High School. He was a mechanic, farmer and bus driver and after retirement a volunteer at the Marshall Senior Center. His favorite job was bus driving. At that occupation he met Lois, as he took her student to the building in which she taught. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and The Optimist Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Boyd Palmer (Johnnie)of Marshall; one son, John David Boyd (Ashleigh) of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren, John Andrew Palmer, Mary Boyd, Gracie Boyd and Annie Boyd; one great-grandson, Cyrus Michael Palmer; one brother, Robert Boyd (Judy); and four nephews.
