A California man has been arrested and charged after being caught transporting more than 100 pounds of marijuana in Lafayette County on Tuesday, September 5.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers pulled over a vehicle driven by Albertino Zagal. Authorities discovered a large amount of vacuumed sealed marijuana inside the cab of Zagal’s vehicle. Zagal consented to a search of the vehicle.

Authorities found five large boxes and several duffle bags containing marijuana in vacuum sealed packages. Troopers estimated the total weight of all the marijuana was 125 pounds.

Court documents say Zagal is charged with a felony for trafficking drugs in the first degree. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
