Kevin Gausman pitched eight strong innings, George Spring hit a pair of home runs, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Kansas City Royals 5-1 on Saturday, September 9.

Gausman went eight innings, allowing only one run on two hits, while striking out ten. Jordan Hick finished things off with a perfect ninth.

The Blue Jays scored four runs on Zack Greinke, who pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief. Greinke dropped to 1-15 on the season.

Springer hit two home runs and drove in four for Toronto. Edward Olivares hit his tenth homer of the season for Kansas City.

Kansas City has the worst record in baseball at 44-99.
