A Marshall man recently competed in the 2023 WPA World Powerlifting Championships and broke a world record at that competition.
Brad Straub broke the world record at the competition in Kansas City on Saturday, July 15. Straub broke the record with a 424.4 pound squat in the competition. Straub set the previous record in 2021. Straub says it requires a lot of dedication to prepare himself for the competition.
Straub says it also takes a lot of sacrifices in order to perform at the highest level. Straub says it’s a lifestyle anyone at any age can do with enough discipline.
Straub says he plans to compete at future meets, it just depends on when and where they are.
