The Marshall Board of Education discussed the purchase of the railroad easement at Eastwood School during its meeting on Tuesday, September 12.

The district is currently leasing the property from The Union Pacific Railroad at a cost of approximately $7,000 per year. Superintendent Caleb Petet stated the property involves three acres and purchasing would be cost effective for future plans with the school.

The board approved the purchase of the property at a cost of $20,000.
