Dorothy E. Cobb, 99, of Marshall, formerly of Gilliam, died Saturday, September 16, 2023 at The Living Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Gilliam Baptist Church, with Rev. Lynn Snapp officiating.  Burial will be in Gilliam Cemetery, with Josiah Cobb, Justin Cobb, Bryce Young, Alex Love, Tyler Reddell, and Jason Cooper serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at Gilliam Baptist Church.  Memorials are suggested to Gilliam Cemetery in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born August 15, 1924 in Jamesport, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Bessie Bennett Baldwin.  On June 3, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas, she married Herbert L. Cobb, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Herbert “Butch” Cobb and his wife Debbie of Marshall, and Gene Cobb of Centertown, Missouri; a daughter, Carol L.

Hughes and her husband John of Williamstown, Kentucky; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and twenty great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Winford Souders.

Mrs. Cobb was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Marshall, and formerly a long-time member of the Gilliam Baptist Church.  She served as a supervisor in the Housekeeping Department at the Marshall Habilitation Center until her retirement in 1981.
