The Kansas City Royals came back from a two-run deficit to beat the Cleveland Guardians 6-4 on Monday, September 18.

Cleveland held a 4-2 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth inning before the Royals erupted for four runs off of Trevor Stephan.

Nelson Velazquez homered and Drew Waters drove in a pair of runs with two hits at Kansas City won the opener of a three-game series.

Brady Singer allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings. He walked two and struck out four. James McArthur earned the save.

The Royals sit at 49-102, the second worst record in Major League Baseball.

The Royals will look for the series win on Tuesday, September 19. Logan Allen gets the start for Cleveland. Kansas City has not announced a starter. Pregame is at 6 p.m., with first pitch at 6:40 on KMMO FM 102.9.
