
The St. Louis Cardinals dropped their second straight game to the Milwaukee Brewers in an 8-2 loss on Wednesday, September 20.
The Brewers got an early 3-0 lead in the first inning off Zack Thompson. Thompson went five innings, giving up four runs on five hits. He walked one and struck our four.
Casey Lawrence pitched the final two innings for the Cardinals, and gave up four runs.
The St. Louis offense mustered only two runs on six hits. Paul Goldschmidt and Richie Palacios drove in the only Cardinals runs.
Milwaukee starter Adrian Houser went six strong innings, surrendering only one run.
The Brewers have taken two of three so far in this series. The last-place Cardinals have fallen to 67-85 on the season.
