
Nelson Velazquez homered and drove in three runs, Angel Zerpa threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, and the Kansas City Royals completed a sweep of the Cleveland Guardians with 6-2 win on Wednesday, September 20.
Starter Zack Greinke gave up two runs on five hits in 3 2/3 inning. Greinke struck out five before Zerpa took over and pitched the rest of the game.
Kansas City jumped out to a three run lead in the first inning off Lucas Giolito. Velazquez hit his 15th homer of the season to give the Royals a lead they never relinquished.
Bobby Witt Jr. had two hits and and an RBI and Edward Olivares also drove in a run.
Kansas City has won seven of its last eight games. The Royals are 51-102 overall.
