The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved two special event permits for event to be held in October.

The first request was for the Odessa Marching Band Invitational. The request is to close 2nd Street from Main Street to College Street from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 14.

The other request was for the Odessa Chamber Trick or Treat event on Saturday, October 28. The request closes the intersection of Mason and 2nd Street. The closure takes effect from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

In other news, the board approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Stephen Wright to enter into an agreement between the City of Odessa and Tyler Technologies, INC for municipal software support.
