The Concordia Board of Aldermen adopted the Fiscal Year 2023/2024 budget during a special meeting on Monday, September 25.

A public hearing was held prior to the meeting. No public comments were made, so the board moved on.

The board started by approving an ordinance amending the 2022/2023 budget. The board then approved a bill setting wages for the city’s full-time workers before discussing the entire budget.

City Administrator Dale Klussman reported there is ARPA funding available in the budget, but specific projects have not been outlined. Klussman did say the focus for the coming year was on infrastructure, but nothing specific has been identified. The board plans to come up some projects in future meetings.

After some discussion, the board passed the first and second readings adopting the 2023/2024 budget. The budget takes effect October 1, 2023; and expires September 30, 2024.
