
The Odessa Police Department arrested a subject in possession of a stolen vehicle on Sunday, September 24.
According to a probable cause statement, an officer was informed that a stolen vehicle was at a hotel in the city limits of Odessa. The officer confirmed the license plate and noticed a suspect, identified as Deven Osborne walk away from the vehicle.
Osborne exited a hotel room multiple times, but went back inside each time he noticed the officer was still there. Th officer then hid his patrol car and watched from a secluded area, when he noticed Osborne run towards the vehicle and get inside.
The officer managed to stop Osborne before he could get away in the vehicle. Osborne allegedly had a loaded handgun, a vile containing Fentanyl, and the keys to the stolen vehicle. Osborne is a convicted felon.
Court documents say Osborne is charged with felonies for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.
No court dates have been set at this time.
