
Rosemary Strother, 91 of Sedalia, passed away, Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Fair View Nursing Home.
She was born June 20, 1932, in Wichita, KS to the late John Myron and Ruth Pauline (Gladfelter) Chaney.
She was married to Kenneth D. Brooks, and he preceded her in death. On May 24, 1975, in Sedalia, she married Thomas M. Strother, Jr., and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2003.
She is survived by two sons Randall Brooks and his wife Debbie of Sedalia, and Kevin Brooks and his wife Theresa of Los Angeles, CA: three stepchildren Thomas M. Strother III and his wife Sandi of Seneca, SC; Tracie Jamesen and her husband Walt of Lawrence, KS, and Todd Strother and his wife Terri of Cottage Grove, WI; along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Doris Katemann; and grandson and granddaughter.
Mrs. Strother was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. She worked for a number of years as a dental assistant for Dr. Clifford Katemann until her retirement. In her retirement she was an artist, enjoying doing portraits, western and Indian art, and pinnacle drawings.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 1:30pm, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. The burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitations will be from 12:30 until service at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice. “To plant a tree in her memory.”
