A Hale woman was injured in crash in Carroll County on Tuesday, September 26.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when 66-year-old Margaret Ellis fell asleep at the wheel. Her vehicle crossed the roadway and went off the left side of the road, striking a culvert, before coming to a rest in a creek.

Ellis was transported by life flight to North Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at 11 p.m. on Route J at County Road 261 in Carroll County.
