Saline County Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner reported that the county is receiving funding from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s off-system local bridge replacement program (BRO).

The bridge is over the Pass Branch River on the western end of Saline County. Platter said the estimated amount of the BRO is $455,000.

In other news, Saline County Sheriff Cindi Mullins said contractors will begin work on the jail renovation project beginning Thursday, September 28. Some inmates will have to be temporarily relocated, so in-person visitation will be shut down until that part of the project is complete.

Mullins also reported the department was allocated $156,940 from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for equipment at the jail to help mitigate COVID and other infectious diseases.
