Five area residents were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Pettis County on Friday, September 29.

According to a report, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Kayla Blakely failed to stop at a traffic control device, striking a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Brandon Hill. Hill’s vehicle overturned and came to a rest on top of Blakely’s vehicle and third vehicle driven by 66-year-old Ronald Hicken.

Hill was transported by Life Air Ambulance to University of Missouri Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Blakely suffered moderate injuries. A five-year-old juvenile in Blakely’s vehicle suffered serious injuries. Two others had minor injuries after the crash.

The accident occurred at 8:31 a.m. on Eastbound U.S. 50 at South Engineer Avenue in Pettis County.
