
Robert Thomas “B.T.” Lemmon, 80, of rural Miami, MO, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with Dr. Michael Kateman and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Miami Cemetery. Born October 5, 1942, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Robert Franklin Lemmon and Elizabeth Ann Fisher Lemmon. B.T. graduated from Marshall High School in 1960 and served in the Missouri Army National Guard. On June 27, 1971, he married Betty Sue Deer King who survives of the home. B.T. lived in the rural Miami area his entire life where he farmed. He served on the Miami school board, Miami United Methodist Church board, the Production Credit Association board and Slater Co-Op board, and had served as president on several of the boards. After the Methodist church in Miami closed he became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
In addition to his wife, Betty; he is survived by three children: Tim Lemmon (Janet) of Rock Port, Krisy Wade (Stacey) of Pleasant Hill and Zach Lemmon (Angela) of rural Miami; six grandchildren: Gage (Cobie), Jade, Addey “Lou”, Macey, Kenna “A-Doe” and Chase; one sister, Ann Fields of Elgin, IL; a close cousin, Mary Ann DeVriese of Miami; two nephews, Jason and Robert Fields; a niece, Sondra Davis; as well as other extended family.
In addition to his parents, B.T. was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Mildred Lemmon.
