Janet L. Cowan, 60, of Marshall, MO, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Legendary Nursing and Rehab in Marshall.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon Community Cancer Center. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born December 23, 1962, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas “Jim” Gilpin Sr. and Betty Kay Mitchell Gilpin. She was raised in Marshall, living in Slater, MO for 20 years, and was of the Baptist faith. She worked in the caretaking, cooking and cleaning industry. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, having a special relationship with each one. She also loved to play cards and board games and go for rides in the country listening to music.

Survivors include three children, Jaclyn Perrin and Kari Garrido of Marshall, and Marion “Tony” Davis Jr. (Alicia) of Fayette, MO; one brother, James Thomas “Jim” Gilpin Jr. (Sheryl) of Slater; one sister, Julie Kay Gilpin of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by one grandson, Dorian Lara.
