Two Johnson County residents were injured in a crash on Wednesday, October 4.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the left front tire of a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Alex Elliott blew out, causing Elliott to jerk the wheel and overcorrect. Elliott’s vehicle slid off the roadway, impacted an embankment, and overturned. A passenger in Elliott’s vehicle was ejected during the crash.

Elliott was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. The ejected passenger, identified as 27-year-old Mykaelah Williams, suffered serious injuries. Williams was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash occurred at 10:40 p.m. on Missouri 58, north of southwest 350 Road in Johnson County.
