The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved two special event permits during its meeting on Monday, October 9.

The first request was from Odessa Helping Hands for the Elf Boot Block. They collect donations on the all four corners of 2nd Street and Mason for the Odessa Christmas Store.

The second request was from the Coffee Camp Mobile Beverage Trailer. They requested permission to set up their operation from 6 a.m. to noon a few mornings a week. The board approved that request, but only for weekdays.

In other news, the board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Odessa School District for a school resource officer. This memorandum outlines expenses and costs for this position.
